Nashville, Tenn. (February 13, 2023) – Award-winning country/soul band, Herrick, has signed with CDX Records for exclusive distribution and with The Joseph Henry Agency for booking representation.
(L-R): Kerry Herrick, Donna Herrick and Joe Kelly, President, CDX Records
Herrick is a band whose list of accomplishments and career accolades is long. Their 2012 debut album ‘New Dance,’ co-produced by band founders Donna and Kerry Herrick, Michael Bonagura and Buddy Cannon delivered two singles that hit the MusicRow chart and a music video that landed in the Top 20 on The Country Network’s Countdown. Their second album ‘Cottonfields’ followed in 2016. High praise from some of the most coveted music critics hovered around them with regularity over the years including music historian Robert K. Oermann of MusicRow Magazine and the CMA award-winning late journalist Chuck Dauphin of Billboard magazine, both citing Herrick as “the real deal.” Dauphin continued by saying “Herrick may very well contain the next great female voice of this generation in Donna Herrick.” The band boasts an impressive list of music awards including two IAMA International Acoustic Awards, “Folk/Bluegrass/Americana “Group of the Year,“ and most recently, “Entertainer of the Year” and “Female Vocalist of the Year” at the JMA Awards, in addition to a Bronze Telly Award.
"We are extremely excited to team up with Joe Kelly and the CDX family with their strong, long-standing experience in the music business. Standby Herrick fans for a new chapter with great music coming your way," states Kerry and Donna Herrick.
“I was blown away the first time I heard Herrick and am very proud and happy to sign them for distribution with CDX Records. We are excited also to add them to the roster at The Joseph Henry Agency as Herrick is a proven touring act who is ready to return to the road,” says Joe Kelly, President, CDX Records
ABOUT HERRICK: When Herrick takes the stage you see them and the spell is complete. Donna, she lets loose something the opposite of righteousness. It's a howl, full of hurt and anger and life. Starts on the highest C note that 99.9% of female singers can't hit, she opens up like into a reeling chorus. Donna's pioneering vocals, a kind of audible kiss, a blurted confession backed by a fierce mandolin. Kerry's legendary bass beats combined with his tight harmony blend. Rivera’s magnificent wash of drums and cymbals, full of passion. All of this through a dizzying, hour-long crescendo until the final band hit. You see them where they truly belong - where they are meant to be. Herrick is the patchwork of two lives long lived together. Sewn up in organic composition and exquisite harmonies, theirs is a fabric held together with steel thread. Nearly every single successful band who has ever been will tell you that the relationship between band members is very much like a marriage. When you spend hours, days, months and eventually years together, sit side by side through mile after mile as you travel the country, and watch as your creations are born and breathe the breath of life, then you pretty much have a true understanding of marriage. For Kerry and Donna Herrick, that bond was sewn with a double threaded needle being that they are, in fact, married, both literally and musically.
